The webinar showcased how a development team helped a financial management company automate a commission payments system using the FileMaker 12 platform.  The objective was to deploy a networked solution for under $15,000 and have the system completed in six weeks.

The demo reviewed how system requirements were gathered and driven into a simple and effective design that tracked the company’s accounts and managed commissions for investment advisors.

The case study demonstrated:

  • organizing data to reflect how the business operates 
  • designing around purpose and workflow 
  • importing and processing Excel data from outside sources 
  • generating useful reports such as balance controls
  • storing documents and PDFs within the application for easy recall
