January 18 – Playing Nicely with Others: FileMaker and Content Management Systems
Content management systems (CMS) allow for public access, meaning anyone who chooses to view your content can do so. However, your data is typically a private matter — YOU select the data you want to share publicly. Boundaries must be defined in order to avoid unpleasant situations of sensitive or unwanted data being exposed. As a developer or FileMaker database administrator, you should be aware of the different ways these content management platforms can communicate with your database as well as the benefits/limitations of the options.
Topics Include:
- Key principles to be aware of when sharing your private data
- Various content management platforms that integrate well with FileMaker Pro
- Different approaches to achieve the desired integration solution
- Benefits and limitations of each approach
